A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) is seeking applications for a full-time non-exempt Sterilization/Dental Assistant on the Mesa, Arizona campus.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Complete all equipment sterilization on a daily basis.
- Maintain dental equipment inventory and supply control system as needed.
- Dispense and receive dental instruments to/from faculty, staff, and students.
- Deliver and pick up sterilization carts from the Comprehensive Care Units.
- Practice proper PPE safety consistently.
- General administrative duties as assigned.
- Assisting students and faculty while treating live patients.
- Ensuring the dental unit is stocked with supplies as determined by the Dental Assistant Supervisor and/or CCU Director.
- Maintain suction lines, traps, and DUWL.
- Inventory, Weekly Spore Tests, and any other sterilization duties as assigned.
- ASDOH Dental Clinic and patient treatment.
- Other Duties as Assigned
Skills & Experience:
- Dental Assistant and X-ray Certificate required.
- 6-12 Months of experience chair-side assisting live patients.
- Infection Control, HIPAA, and CPR training are required.
- Axium or Dentrix experience preferred.
- Experience with Steam autoclaves, Dishwashers, Handpiece maintenance system, Ultrasonic cleaner.
- Basic computer skills.
- Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and phone).
- Must be flexible and organized, able to change assignments with little direction.
- Must work well independently and in a group environment.
- Must maintain a professional attitude at all times.
