East Sacramento Veterinary Center is looking for an experienced Veterinarian to join our team!

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated, compassionate Veterinarian who wants to grow with a brand committed to exceptional veterinary care. This position offers opportunities for professional advancement within our team and the veterinary industry. As a Veterinarian at East Sacramento Veterinary Center, you will utilize your veterinary skills, including but not limited to, conducting examinations, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, performing surgeries, and communicating with clients about their pets' health.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday: 4 day work week. NO WEEKENDS

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough examinations and diagnose a variety of medical conditions in animals.
  • Perform surgeries and dental procedures.
  • Prescribe medications and provide detailed treatment plans.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding their pets' health and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure the highest standard of care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to veterinary assistants and technicians.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Veterinarian in a veterinary hospital.
  • Proficiency in performing surgeries and dental procedures.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and veterinary practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to following OSHA regulations and maintaining a safe work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a small animal practice.
  • Proficiency in radiographs, blood draws, and anesthesia monitoring.
  • Strong client communication and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently handling 30 pounds and occasionally handling 50 pounds. Lifting, bending, repetitive motions.
  • Frequently required to communicate with clients, team members, and associates. Must be able to exchange accurate information.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to hazards associated with aggressive patients, infected animals, and controlled substances.
  • Exposure to unpleasant odors, noises, bites, scratches, and animal waste.
  • Possible exposure to contagious diseases.
