Certified Medical Assistant - Cardiology Methodist Plaza (Rooming/Clinical Support)

Des Moines, Iowa

Shift:  Monday to Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm

 

**$5,000.00 Sign-on Bonus for external candidates.

 









Responsibilities






We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our dedicated cardiology team. As a CMA in our cardiology clinic, you will play a crucial role in supporting our healthcare providers by ensuring efficient and high-quality patient care.

  • Rooming Patients:

    • Greet and prepare patients for their appointments.
    • Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, weight, etc.).
    • Accurately document patient history, medications, and any concerns or symptoms in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Clinical Support:

    • Assist cardiologists and other providers as needed.
    • Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and ready for use.
  • Patient Communication:

    • Educate patients on procedures, medications, and follow-up care.
    • Communicate test results and instructions to patients as directed by the provider.
    • Handle patient inquiries via phone and secure messaging.
  • Administrative Duties:

    • Schedule appointments, follow-ups, and referrals to other specialists as needed.
    • Maintain accurate and organized patient records.








Qualifications






  • Certified Medical Assistant, current certification.
  • Prior work experience in Cardiology or other specialty clinic preferred, but not required.
  • BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.
