Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for performing dental prophylactic services and providing education for the prevention and control of dental disease. Work is performed under supervision of dentist. Work is performed in usual clinic conditions; requires a high degree of contact with patients.
- Professionally clean teeth including thorough scaling and polishing
- Presents instructions on proper personal oral hygiene using demonstrations on human teeth and models
- Take and develop radiographs
- Administers topical Fluoride at proper dose to prevent cavities
- Clean, package, and sterilizes dental instruments using proper technique
- Disinfect chairs, cabinets and machines after dental treatments
- Take inventory of instruments with proper documentation that it occurred
- Serve as Dental Assistant when needed
- Proper record keeping and maintenance both in manual and automated systems
- Ensure dental supplies are on hand and ordered in a timely manner
- Answer sick calls, screening and scheduling patients in a timely manner

Required QualificationsEducation: A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of an approved dental hygiene training program; licensed to practice dental hygiene by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.
