Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Dentist II for the Eric B. Chandler Health Center at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. The primary purpose of the Dentist II position is to provide dental treatment to patients; remediate pain and suffering to patients; ensure ongoing preventive care; develops a plan of care that integrates medical and dental considerations; develops list according to the individual Plan of Care. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Obtains complete medical/dental history. Diagnoses and treats dental disease including caries, trauma, and oral pathology. Documents findings according to policies and procedures. Provides a variety of dental services, including amalgams, composites, extractions, endodontics, fixed and removable prosthetics, preventative treatments and emergency care. Uses pharmacological adjuncts appropriate to individual circumstances including local anesthesia and other supportive medications. Consults with medical staff when necessary to ascertain the casual factors that affect the onset of progression of dental diseases. Instructs and supervises the dental assistants during patient treatment. Prescribes and reviews work performed by the dental hygienist. Completes, records and reports patient treatment, necessary for the administration of the dental department (including charts, encounter forms, preauthorization and lab forms).
