JOB TITLE (#1592): Psychiatrist - Bronx, NY
Minimum of 2 years experience in previous mental health setting, outpatient clinic, or hospital
Impact Recruiting Solutions is currently seeking a Psychiatrist to fill an opening with a network of federally qualified community health centers located in Bronx, New York.
Requirements of the Psychiatrist:
- Must have an MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an accredited residency program in psychiatry
- Must be Board Certified
- Must have a valid NY State license, CDS, DEA, and BLS, Medicaid number
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in a previous mental health setting, outpatient clinic, or hospital
- Understanding of and passion for Community Healthcare is preferred

- The salary for this position is $270,000 - $325,000 / yr

Responsibilities of the Psychiatrist:
- Completes a comprehensive patient history by obtaining a history from the patient and other relevant sources (e.g.medical records, family members).
- Documents the full history and progress notes according to organization policy, and federal and NYS Department of Health laws and regulations.
- Psychiatric diagnosis according to the latest DSM, ICD, and evidence-based treatment.
- Performs psychiatric evaluation using history, laboratory tests, and other indicated procedures, orders tests, and interprets results to formulate psychiatric diagnoses, formulates, prescribes, and/or carries out medical treatment.
- Counsels patients in health related matters. Prescribes or administers treatment recommendations, consisting of psychotherapy, medication, and other specialized psychiatric care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
- Explains procedures and discuss test results on prescribed treatments with patients.
- Refers patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary.
- Complete and submit appropriate progress reports to the CMO.
- Advises patients and the community concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Maintains strict confidentiality and follows federal/state and organization regulations in this regard.
- Plans, implements, or administers health programs or standards in the organization for information, prevention, or treatment of injury or illness.
- Attends scheduled monthly and quarterly medical staff meetings as well as education meetings.
- Agrees to see adults and geriatric patients irrespective of their medical condition/diagnosis.
- Analyzes and evaluates patient data and test or examination findings to diagnose the nature and extent of mental disorders.
- Prescribes directs, and administers psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
- Examines or conducts laboratory or diagnostic tests on patients to provide information on general physical conditions and mental disorders.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
