Medical Assistant

We are looking for the ideal candidate to fill the Medical Assistant position. The candidate must have a dynamic and professional personality and be a detail-oriented, enthusiastic, empathetic, self-motivated problem solver, and a team player. Demonstrating positivity towards their role and the clinic's mission of providing exceptional patient care.  


The candidate is accountable for supporting the Physician effectively by carrying out various back-office clinical tasks.  


Daily Back Office tasks include but are not limited to: 



  • Exhibit a professional demeanor when interacting with patients both in person and on the phone 

  • Appointment Scheduling  

  • Collaborate closely with the central business office and front desk staff to assure smooth patient flow and reduce wait times 

  • Prepare patient care rooms for examination 

  • Accompany patients to their examination rooms, conduct patient interviews, measure vital signs, weight, and blood pressure 

  • Compare patient medications for accuracy, and document all relevant information on the patient's chart/EMR 

  • Explain the procedure and treatments that will be performed and quote insurance coverage with patients 

  • Under the supervision of the physician or physician assistant, the Medical Assistant also assists with medical procedures and provides instructions to patients 

  • Arrange surgery appointments, verify insurance coverage, collect insurance fees, and provide patients with information regarding surgical procedures and insurance expenses 

  • Ensure that all medical reports, labs, and information are filed in patients’ chart daily and readily available for medical providers 

  • Clean and sterilize both instruments and equipment after use 

  • Maintain inventory of supplies and instruments, and re-stocking examination rooms 

  • Demonstrate the proper and secure use of machinery and equipment and adhere to the protocols for reporting and rectifying any hazardous conditions. 

  • Participate in Quality Improvement and Mandatory training 

  • Respond to inquiries and requests from patients, physicians, and pharmacies  

  • Sort and handle messages from patients and staff members and forward them to doctors and physician assistants for further action 

  • Multi-task between EMR and other platforms  

  • All other duties assigned by the clinic manager or practice administrator 




Qualifications

Knowledge and Qualification: 



  • Knowledge in Healthcare field and medical specialty(otology) 

  • Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette 

  • Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow. 

  • Applicant must be polished and present excellent communication skills 

  • Experience in working in a private practice setting is highly desirable 

  • Applicant must have the ability to multi-task and have working knowledge of medical terminology, writing prescriptions and surgery terminology 

  • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook) 

  • Knowledge of EHR
