As an Associate with Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, you will have the opportunity to assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Interview patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients’ charts.
  • Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
  • Assists with treatments ordered by physician as supervised by physician or nurse.Β 
  • Performs select clinical duties.
  • Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records and filing.
  • Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies.Β 
  • Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
  • Provide patient instruction and education as directed by the physician or nurse, or refers when appropriate
  • Perform phlebotomy and injections under nurse supervision

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Microsoft Office knowledge and computer skills required
  • Ability to maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients and their representatives, managers, physicians, other clinic staff, outside agencies, and the public.
  • Ability to effectively document patient vitals and medical information in a timely manner

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Cerner experience
  • Athena experience

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 Year of Experience Working in an Outpatient setting

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduate of Medical Assistant program or Associates Degree in Medical Sciences with emphasis in Anatomy

REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • BLS credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

PREFERRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • Phlebotomy competency certified
