Work Location: In person
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive physical assessments of patients
- Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness and potential side effects
- Collaborate with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to develop treatment plans
- Provide patient education regarding their medical conditions and treatment options
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment strategies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with hospital policies and relevant regulations
- Collaborates with physicians to ensure efficiency in patient care.
- Promote customer service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner degree plan.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- Current Texas Nurse Practitioner license, active and in good standing.
- Current certification in BLS.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED/SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
- A minimum of two yearsβ experience in a nurse practitioner role is preferred.
- Critical care experience preferred.
- Effective leadership, teaching, research, and communication skills are required.
- Advanced physical assessment and critical thinking skills are required.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments is required.
- Ability to assess medical conditions and interpret findings required.
