SLP responsibilities



  • Assess, develop, and implement speech therapy treatment plans with measurable goals.

  • Engage patients with fun, age-appropriate games and activities to keep them motivated.

  • Coordinate with team members to ensure quality care.




SLP qualifications



  • Certification in Speech Language Pathology and valid state license to practice in Texas.




Basic Physical Requirements



  • Must be able to maintain various postures such as kneeling, sitting, standing, squatting for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to regularly walk and run for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to transition from sitting to standing and vice versa independently.

  • Must be able to utilize quick body movements as may be required by the behavior intervention plan.

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.

  • Must be able to transfer/position/transport patients and adaptive equipment.

  • Must have the visual ability to read and understand written communication via computer, electronic devices, and paper means.

  • Must have the manual dexterity to perform electronic device functions such as data collection.
