Pharmacist

Homestead Co-op is hiring a Pharmacist, on a full-time or part-time basis, in Portage la Prairie, MB.

What you’ll do:

• Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy Department by ensuring all prescriptions are filled accurately, efficiently, and safely.
• Provide patient counselling and education on prescriptions and non-prescription medications, administer injections/immunizations and review patient profiles to identify drug related problems and monitor medication adherence.
• Complete adjudication and sale of prescriptions and other purchases using the pharmacy software and point of sale (POS) systems.
• Supervise and train other dispensary staff as required to maintain efficient workflow within the dispensary.
• Support accurate pricing, ordering, and receiving procedures to minimize shrink and optimize sales, and assist customers in locating merchandise on the sales floor.
• Comply with all Federal and Provincial legal requirements, Pharmacy Standards of Practice and with Homestead Co-ops policies and procedures.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Pharmacy and:

• Are licensed, registered and in good standing with College of Pharmacists of Manitoba or are eligible for licensure.
• Have authorization to administer drugs and vaccines by injection.
• Are authorized to prescribe a drug for self-limiting conditions/smoking cessation and/or other advanced practice authorizations (would be considered an asset).
• Experience with Kroll pharmacy software would be considered an asset.
• Are honest, trustworthy, results oriented, and strive to be the best in what you do.
• Can work in a team environment or independently, have strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

• An annual short-term incentive (bonus) program, where for the first 2 years of employment in this position, Homestead Co-op will guarantee a minimum of 5% of your salary to be paid out. To qualify, you must be employed by Homestead Co-op at the time of the bonus payout.
