Cabrini’s Pharmacy Department

Cabrini Health Pharmacy Departments are located at Malvern and Brighton and provide a range of patient-centred pharmacy services to Cabrini patients, including clinical pharmacy, dispensing, procurement, aseptic and cytotoxic compounding, and clinical trial management.

We advocate the Quality Use of Medications which involved the safe, appropriate, effective, and cost-effective use of medications across the continuum of care.

How you will make an impact

As a Pharmacist at Cabrini, you will have the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in a nurturing, collaborative environment working alongside experienced professionals. Our pharmacists have the opportunity to rotate through clinical specialties, aseptic & cytotoxic compounding and inpatient dispensing. You will be an essential member in all clinical teams and play a critical role in medication management & medication safety.

Flexibility will be required to work over 5 days – Monday to Friday with some on-call, weekend and evening work on a rostered basis.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a clinical pharmacy  service to patients and clinicians, ensuring prescribing and dispensing compliance with legislative and professional requirements

  • Providing dispensing and medication counselling service to patients

  • Providing pharmaceutical information to health professionals

  • Ensuring medications are stored safely and appropriately

  • Communicating and working cooperatively within the department and wider organisation

What you will bring to the role

Along with enthusiasm to learn, the successful candidate will be highly motivated and have the following:

  • Current AHPRA Registration

  • Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy (desirable)

  • Well-developed computer skills

  • Sound written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to be proactive and work well within a team

  • Sound prioritising and organisational skills with the ability to adapt to conflicting demands
