Clinical Interviews:

• The TEC PSYCH3 completes daily 1 :1 rounds (aka mental health assessments) of all patients in the TEC acute unit in a confidential setting.
• The TEC PSYCH3 utilizes daily contacts and a formal interview process to obtain background information, determine provisional diagnoses, and evaluate treatment needs.
• The TEC PSYCH3 completes collaborative and therapeutic assessments of incarcerated individuals on her caseload utilizing a wide range of psychological assessment instruments that are selected based on the incarcerated individual's individual needs, gender, cultural background, and presenting symptoms.
  
  Coordination of Care:
• The TEC PSYCH 3 communicates relevant symptom, safety, and discharge information to the TEC treatment team during daily treatment team meetings. The TEC PSYCH 3 takes into consideration HIPPA, safety, and limits of confidentiality when making a decision about what to share with team members.
• The TEC PSYCH3 recommends housing placement and treatment needs for incarcerated individuals on her caseload and makes appropriate treatment referrals (i.e., medication evaluation, individual treatment, group treatment) as clinically indicated.
  
  Treatment:
• The TEC PSYCH 3 provides treatment (individual and group) to incarcerated individuals in the acute unit (and a few assigned cases in the residential unit). All treatment (both individual and group) will be documented on gender specific, individualized and culturally competent treatment plans.
• The TEC PSYCH3 provides individual and group treatment utilizing promising practices and evidence-based treatments for assigned caseload.
• The TEC PSYCH3 gathers information through Functional Analysis from unit staff to create and implement Individualized Behavior Management Plans (IBMP) as needed for incarcerated individuals on her caseload.

• The TEC PSYCH3 documents interview/rounds information in psychological reports and/or Mental Health Appraisals (MHA's) and/or Mental Health Updates (MHU's) for each client (typically done by writing). The type of report completed will be determined by the individual needs of the incarcerated individual and the treatment and discharge plan.
• An MHA or MHU will be completed on all incarcerated individuals in the TEC within 14 days of admission to the TEC, per policy 630.500.
• The TEC PSYCH 3 utilizes the writing tool Conclusion, Rule, Assessment, Conclusion (CRAC) to formulate and justify diagnoses in all Mental Health Appraisal's (DOC form 13-376), Mental Health Updates (DOC form 13-476), Incarcerated individual Community Reentry Safety
• (ORCS) program reports, formal psychological assessment reports, and cases submitted electronically to the Care Review Committee (CRC).
• TEC PSYCH3 interprets and integrates results of psychological evaluations in formal reports and provides client feedback on evaluation results.
• The TEC PSYCH 3 documents suicide evaluation using the Suicide Intervention Inventory (SII) form and includes in the written assessment documentation of the correctional risk factors assessed (included dynamic, static, and acute), housing and placement considerations, and relevant risk management planning.
• The TEC PSYCH3 documents all contacts with patients in a timely manner via Primary Encounter Reports (PER's) or Mental Status Exam's (MSE's) utilizing SOAP format.
• The TEC PSYCH3 inputs daily OMNI encounters (electronic) on all incarcerated individuals seen that day.
• The TEC PSYCH3 completes consult requests for incarcerated individuals discharging from the residential unit, uploads required documents to SharePoint, and participles in residential transfer call.
  
  Research analysis/utilization and program planning/evaluation:
• The TEC PSYCH 3 research new trauma treatments (both group and individual) and 
  discusses them with the TEC clinical team.
• The TEC PSYCH3 provides a structure for data collection related to Treatment Evaluation 
  Center (TEC) treatment outcomes as supervised by the Psychologist 4's. This includes 
  identifying which data measures (including PCL-5, PHQ, etc.) will be used to evaluate client progress and reviewing data once returned from the PSYCH4/Headquarters' and implementing any needed changes.
• The TEC PSYCH3 manages treatment plan and MHA/MHU CQUIP compliance quarterly, 
  ensuring numbers fall between 90-100%.
• Participates in research projects as assigned. 
• Creates and designs treatment plan templates for TEC which match operational inspection 
  anchors (OIA's).
• The TEC PSYCH 3 utilizes the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Public Health Response to Trauma materials to assess the COA environment. The TEC PSYCH3 actively works with TEC stakeholders to improve compliance of the environment to the rubric provided in the materials. 
• The TEC PSYCH 3 tracks individual competence in trauma informed care utilizing the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Public Health Response to Trauma materials, specifically utilizing the Core Competencies for Trauma Informed Staff self-assessment tool. 

• Attend MH and Health Services staff meetings (on-site and off-site), read/critique assigned materials
• Support and suggest innovative ideas and strategies

• Promote safety, be alert, be aware
• Write infractions as appropriate
• Attend all required training
• Other duties as assigned (i.e., weekly ITJS screenings, teaching AIS, etc.)

• Take one week of assigned MHOD call per assigned rotation
• Follow MHOD policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:
Ph. D or Psy. D in Clinical Psychology
AND
Licensure within Washington State Mental Health Counselor License, Washington State Psychologist License or Agency Affiliated Registration (LAAC) within 60 days of position appointment

Maintain and adhere to the continuing education and licensing/registration requirements for the applicable licenses above through the Department of Health (DOH)
