We are seeking Social Worker to act as an advocate for our Transitional Shelter Care (TSC) children ages (2) days – 17 years with a focus on 0-5 years of age who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment and need immediate placement. As the Clinical Licensed Social Worker, you will provide case management and develop a service plan meeting with the treatment team – child and court personnel – to arrange for advocacy on the child’s behalf.  


Major Duties and Responsibilities:  


· Acts as liaison between children and court personnel.  


· Performs assessments for each individual entering the Transitional Shelter Care (TSC) and writes reports as required.  


· Assists with intakes and discharges and completes discharge summary reports within assigned timeframes and needs and service plans.  


· Prepares monthly case studies and provides in-service presentations/training to TSC staff.  


· Conducts weekly observations of the TSC program to ensure active treatment with residents is occurring.  


· Provides Case Management to TSC residents.  


· Provides supervision to program staff as part of a team to ensure daily program implementation and child safety are maintained.  


Required Education, Skills and Experience:   



  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited college or university.  

  • Active with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Social Worker (ASW, LSW).  

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience working as a social worker in a residential setting, preferably Emergency Shelter.  

  • Working knowledge of Title 22.  

  •  Willingness and ability to make frequent field visits, attend meetings, conferences and other job related events away from headquarters. If driving a personal vehicle, must be insurable by our agency’s automobile insurance carrier.
