Are you a compassionate and experienced psychologist looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on patients' lives? The Bariatric Surgery Program at MCW is seeking a dedicated Bariatric Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team.

As a Bariatric Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in our program, working closely with a dynamic team of surgeons, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals. Your primary responsibility will be to perform psychological evaluations for Bariatric Surgery patients, ensuring that they are mentally and emotionally prepared for this life-changing journey. These evaluations are a vital step in our patient care process, and they contribute to our commitment to comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough psychological assessments for patients seeking Bariatric Surgery.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide integrated care.
  • Offer counseling and support to patients as they prepare for surgery.
  • Evaluate patients' mental health and emotional well-being to ensure the best outcomes.

Position Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
  • Fellowship training in clinical health psychology or related field. 
  • Licensed or license-eligible psychologist in the state of Wisconsin.
  • Experience in health psychology or a related field, particularly with bariatric patients, is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine commitment to improving the well-being of our patients.
