About the Job:
PURPOSE STATEMENT:Roles and Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Assist the Medical Director in providing clinical leadership and oversight to the medical staff, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals.
· Participate in developing, implementing, and evaluating clinical programs and services to ensure they meet the highest standards of care.
· Conduct regular case reviews and provide guidance on complex cases to ensure evidence-based and patient-centered care.
· Collaborate with the Quality Improvement team to develop and implement strategies to improve patient care and safety.
· Monitor clinical performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed to meet organizational goals.
· Lead initiatives to maintain accreditation standards and comply with state and federal regulations.
· Assist in developing and updating clinical protocols, policies, and procedures to reflect best practices in psychiatric care.
· Ensure compliance with hospital policies, medical ethics, and legal requirements.
· Mentor and supervise medical staff, providing guidance and support to enhance professional development.
· Conduct performance evaluations and assist in recruitment, onboarding, and retention of high-quality medical professionals.
· Maintain a partial clinical caseload, providing direct patient care and treatment planning.
· Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient records in compliance with hospital policies and regulations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
· Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
· A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a psychiatric setting.
· Previous leadership or management experience is preferred.
· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
· Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions in complex situations.
· Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
· Current license to practice medicine, by the state in which the facility(s) operate.
· Board certification Psychiatry.
· Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
· CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
· First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
