Organizational Relationship: Report to the Coordinator of the Center for Health and Wellness
JOB PURPOSE: Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team composed of nurses, psychologist, and counselors to provide holistic and comprehensive medical and counseling services to students; The Center's staff is dedicated to assisting students in their pursuit of personal and academic growth, to helping students gain a better understanding and appreciation of themselves, and to supporting students as they make important decisions about their lives.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions:
- Medication evaluation and monitoring for students of the Center for Health and Wellness.
- Provide clinical assessment and intervention for individuals, groups, and couples.
- Lethality assessment, referral, crisis intervention
- Continued prescribed medications after signed release of information accompanied by treatment records are obtained from treating physician.
- Provide training/staff development on campus
- Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural and diversity issues
- Support strategic directions of the college and serve the Wagner College community.
- Collaborate with staff therapists and psychologist in the delivery of mental health and behavioral medicine services.
- Assessment and referral to specialty mental health agencies in the community.
- Interdepartmental collaboration with academic advisement, residential education as well as with individual professors regarding the success and wellbeing of students.
- Collaborate with the Director of Counseling to establish and evaluate goals and priorities.
- Maintain clinical records

QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience:
- 2 years of experience working full-time as a psychiatrist in child/adult psychiatry, preferred
Education:
-
- Doctor of medicine (MD) degree
- One year of postgraduate training in an accredited hospital residency program
License:
-
- License for the practice of psychiatry
- Current BC/BE in Psychiatry (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in psychiatry)
- DEA/NYSDOH prescriptive authority

Additional Information
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly salary range for this position is $100 per hour.
