Overview






Community Health Center (CHC) offers comprehensive, community based, preventive, primary care and wellness services for New Jersey residents of all ages at four convenient locations.CHC health care services are designed to meet the specific needs of the entire family – from annual check-ups and immunizations to sick visits, mental health counseling and critical prenatal care. 

 

We are currently looking for a Medical Assistant, Primary Care, to join our team at our facility in Asbury Park.  The position would be responsible for assisting in providing care for patients of the Primary Care Department as part of Health Care Team.









Responsibilities






  • Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers
  • Assists provider with patient workflow and maintaining clinical records
  • Executes order and performs related duties as ordered according to standard operating procedure
  • Maintains laboratory proficiency and required log books and records
  • Assists in coordination, management and documentation of medications, supplies and referrals
  • Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies
  • Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance
  • Omission of specific duties does not exclude them from this position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this position








Qualifications






  • High School diploma or GED
  • Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved school
  • 6 month+ of supervised medical assistant experience preferred
  • Experience in EKG and phlebotomy
  • CPR certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Valid New Jersey Driver’s license 

Working Conditions/Physical Demand: Working indoors with telephone, copier, fax machine, computer, printer, centrifuge, electric exam table, glucometer, nebulizer, needles/syringes, oxygen equipment, personal automobile, scales, sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, thermometer, venipuncture equipment, wheelchair.
