The Dental Assistant assists dentists in a no-fee dental clinic that serves patients from the indigent and uninsured. Working under close supervision, the Dental Assistant ensures that supplies, instruments, and accessories are properly stocked, organized, and sterilized in order to provide for patient visits. This role also adheres to infection control procedures in the clinic in order to uphold safety standards. |
Talent Pool: Allied Health
Assists the doctor/student/hygienist so that dental procedures are productive, of good quality, and completed safely in a timely manner. Produces extraoral and intraoral radiographs of diagnostic quality while requiring minimal exposure to patients and staff. Supports with sterilizing instruments, equipment, materials, and accessories and organizing instrument kits, instrument trays, and accessory equipment according to procedure in order to assist the doctor/student/hygienist. Adheres to infection control procedures in order to reduce the risk of cross-contamination to patient, doctor, and staff. Maintains adequate supplies for the operation of the dental clinic by monitoring the inventory to ensure successful appointments. Performs other duties as reasonably required or assigned. |

Required: At least 1 year experience in a dental office with direct patient care, sterilization, and inventory control |
