Description

Dr. Terrence Jones is seeking a skilled and dedicated full-time Dental Assistant to join his team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional dental care and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. Your expertise and professionalism will contribute to the success of our practice and the overall oral health of our patients.


What you’ll be accountable for:

  • Chairside Assistance:  Assist the dentist during various dental procedures. Prepare and organize instruments, equipment, and materials for dental treatments. Ensure patient comfort before, during and after dental procedures. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. 
  • Patient Care: Greet and prepare patients for treatment, ensuring their comfort and answering any questions they may have. Obtain and record patient's dental history and vital signs, and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Clinical Duties: Sterilize and disinfect instruments and operatory areas according to OSHA and CDC guidelines. Take accurate digital dental radiographs (X-rays). Perform basic laboratory tasks as directed by the dentist. Manage inventory of dental supplies and order when necessary. 
  • Independent Duties on Fridays: Operate efficiently without direction from another dental assistant. Handle all chairside and sterilization duties independently. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. 
  • Educational Support: Instruct patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care, and preventive measures. Educate patients on the importance of maintaining good oral health.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the existing RDA and the rest of the dental team. Assist with front office duties as needed, including scheduling and patient communication. Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.

Schedule: Tuesday - Thursday 8:30am - 5:30pm and Friday 8:15am - 3:45pm 

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Completion of a dental assistant program accredited by the state of California 
  • CPR certification 
  • Proficiency in taking dental radiographs
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
