Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine dental cleanings and periodontal treatments (scaling, polishing, root planing).
- Examine patients’ oral cavity for signs of diseases, abnormalities, and provide findings to the dentist.
- Take and develop dental X-rays as needed.
- Provide preventive care, including fluoride treatments and sealants.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, diet, and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Assist in developing and maintaining patient treatment plans.
- Document and update patient records accurately, including medical and dental histories.
- Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments, equipment, and work areas.
- Stay current on dental practices, techniques, and continuing education requirements.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including infection control procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of dental terminology
- Knowledge of dental hygiene principles and practices
- Ability to instruct patients in preventive dental techniques (oral hygiene instructions)
- Skilled in written and oral communication
- Must be CPR and First Aid certified
- Ability to assess and diagnose oral health conditions
- Skilled in using dental equipment and technology
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.

Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree or higher in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution
- Must have current, valid Florida Hygiene License in accordance with Florida Statute 466
- Previous experience as a Dental Hygienist is a plus
