ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department (ED), including assessing, diagnosing, and
managing patients across all age groups with a wide range of medical conditions.
Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans, including prescribing medications, ordering
diagnostic tests, and performing necessary procedures.
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound care.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs, imaging studies, and EKGs.
Stabilize and manage critically ill or injured patients in emergency situations.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient
care and treatment plans.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to departmental goals for patient safety,
efficiency, and satisfaction.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with hospital policies and legal requirements
within the electronic medical record system.
Provide patient education and discharge planning, including follow up care instructions and referrals to
specialists as necessary.
Participate in ongoing HIPAA training and compliance activities as required by the organization.
Understand and strictly follow all medical staff services policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure
efficient and effective operations.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department or urgent care setting
REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:
Active and non-restricted medical license in Kansas
Active and non-restricted DEA
Current ACLS, BLS, and ATLS certifications
Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine
