McGregor PACE is a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE site), the alternative to nursing home placement providing services that address the medical, rehabilitative, social, and personal care needs enabling seniors to remain safely at home, in the community.


1st and 2nd shift schedules at our Elyria location


$16.00/hour with a $1.00 shift differential for weekends!


Essential Job Functions:

1. Responsible for the day-to-day personal care and safety of the participant.

2. Assists with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, toileting, bathing, ambulation, feeding, dressing, and participating in recreational activities; encourages independence as appropriate.

3. Responsible for light housekeeping, laundry, and assisting with meal preparation.

4. Anticipates needs to carry through activities in an organized, efficient manner; prepares all supplies and work area before beginning activities.

5. May participate in interdisciplinary team meetings as requested; communicate relevant participant information to supervisor.

6. Completes required documentation according to organizational guidelines and time frames in a legible and complete manner.

7. Reports participant status changes to supervisor and other staff as relevant.

8. Validates competency in basic skills and personal care services, annually, and as otherwise required.

9. Completes ongoing training program requirements per organizational policy.

10. Follows organizational policy for call-offs and completing time sheets.

11. Assists with errands which may include grocery shopping or replenishing household goods.

12. Understands and utilizes principles of infection control, including handwashing, bag procedures, and care of an infectious patient.

13. Innovative in providing services with the available resources.

14. Attend departmental meetings as scheduled.


Qualifications:

  • HHA (Home Health Aide), CNA (certified nursing assistant), or STNA (state-tested nursing assistant) certification is required. CPR certification is preferred.
  • Prior experience working with frail, older adults, or persons with special needs, is required; experience with dementia patients is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift or move 50 – 75 lbs.
