Duties and Responsibilities:

Greeting patients professionally both in person and on the phone

Quickly answering or properly referring questions and issues

Optimizing provider schedules and patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling

Notifying clinical staff of patient arrivals

Comforting patients by anticipating anxieties and effectively answering questions

Ensuring availability of treatment information by retrieving and updating patient records

Verifying financial records and collecting patient charges while applying in system accurately
-
Maintaining office inventory and equipment by anticipating supply needs
-
Maintains a clean and professional waiting room for patient satisfaction

Check in/Check out patients in a timely manner while collecting all required documents
-
Enters patient data quickly to ensure accurate records
-
Verifies patient insurance eligibility and prepares patient accounts for appointments

Processes patient faxes/mail quickly and properly refers records to appropriate persons
-
Preparing patient charts and gathering information and documents from patients
-
Ensuring that the medical records are organized, accurate and complete
-
Creating digital copies of paperwork and storing the records electronically

Filing the paperwork and reports of inpatients quickly and accurately
-
Safeguarding patient records and ensuring that everyone complies with the HIPAA standards

Transferring data into the facility’s main system database
Skills and Qualifications:

Communication skills to converse clearly over the telephone and in person

Education and Experience:

A high school graduate or equivalent required

California driver’s license
- 1 year of receptionist/clerical work desired, although not
