Compensation range: $145-165K based on experience

Assist with the overall management of the pharmacy. Manage workflow to ensure timely and accurate completion of orders with the goal of meeting or exceeding customer expectations. Work with the Director to promote a positive and professional workplace and to ensure the highest quality of clinical and operational service. Ensure all prescriptions are filled according to order and regulations, accurately and in a timely manner and proper packaging according to facility.

Essential Job Functions (include the following):
•Manage pharmacy staff (Pharmacist and/or technicians)  to include hiring, coaching/development and scheduling.

•Work with Pharmacy Management to orient new staff and provide ongoing development training and coaching (pharmacists and technicians)

•Oversee staff to ensure daily goals are achieved, including, but not limited to, ensuring all prescriptions are filled and dispensed accurately, and meet scheduled delivery runs

•Continually evaluate and modify workflow processes as needed. Implement changes as appropriate to meet deadlines, accuracy and efficiency targets.  Reassign resources as needed to relieve pharmacy operation bottlenecks.

•Accurately and effectively perform the functions of a Staff Pharmacist to include review physician orders, evaluating drug regimens, accurately preparing meds for final dispensing, etc.

•Ensure the order intake process is followed properly, including for controlled substances

•Work with DOO and/or PIC to properly document and reconcile controlled drugs in house

•Work with Pharmacy management and Purchaser to evaluate inventory levels and place orders when appropriate. – on exception items identifying most cost-effective product to order

•Serve as a resource and effectively communicate with customers ( patients, doctors, nurses, etc.) to resolve customer issues

•Work with Pharmacy Management to troubleshoot operational issues brought to the attention of the pharmacy by communities Serve as communication liaison between Management Team and pharmacy staff on tactical and operation issues

•Work with the Pharmacy Management to maximize the use of pharmacy resources

•Work with Pharmacy management to ensure compliance with all State, Federal and local pharmacy laws and regulations

•Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed.


Education and/or Certifications:
• Bachelor's Degree (Pharmacy) or PharmD. required
• State Pharmacist License required without restrictions

Skills and Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience in a lead/supervisory role in high-volume pharmacy setting
• Excellent understanding and working knowledge of pharmacy compliance
• Good leadership skills and demonstrated ability to direct professional/ technical staff
• Good organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and work to deadlines
• Experience in high-volume pharmacy operation
• Good computer skills; demonstrated PC proficiency; and demonstrated pharmacy systems experience
• Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines
• Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate
