Job Summary






Aptive Resources is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiology Oncologist for a full-time position at the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center in Memphis, TN. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive radiation oncology services, including therapeutic radiation, planning, and consultation. This role requires on-site presence during the scheduled hours and availability for call-backs in case of emergencies.

Primary Responsibilities






Key Responsibilities:

  • Therapeutic Radiation Oncology: Perform all aspects of therapeutic radiation oncology, including:

    • 3-D external beam planning
    • Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
    • Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)
    • Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) treatment and planning
    • Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) treatment and planning
    • Electron Beam Radiotherapy
    • RapidArc/Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT) treatment and planning
    • Eclipse Treatment Planning System (TPS)
    • ARIA
  • Patient Care: Provide inpatient and outpatient consultation, follow-up care post-treatment, and manage weekly clinic patient treatments.

  • Tumor Boards: Attend and actively participate in Tumor Board conferences, contributing to multidisciplinary discussions and treatment planning.

  • Collaboration: Work in coordination with hematology/oncology and surgical subspecialties to ensure optimal management of Veterans with malignancies.

  • Treatment Planning: Devise treatment plans, contour tumor and normal structure targets, and evaluate the overall clinical suitability of radiation treatment plans.









Minimum Qualifications






Qualifications:

  • Board Certification: Must be Board Certified in Radiation Oncology.
  • Experience: Five or more years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Licensure: Must hold a full and unrestricted medical license from ANY state.
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required. Non-citizens may be considered if qualified U.S. citizens cannot be recruited.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficient in written and spoken English.

Educational Requirements:

  • Degree: Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or an equivalent degree from a school in the United States or Canada.
    • The degree must have been accredited by one of the following:
      • Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association
      • Association of American Medical Colleges: Liaison Committee on Medical Education
      • Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association
      • An accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
    • Licensure Requirements:

      • For all grade levels and positions, applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
