    General Description
    Under the guidance of the Director of Special Education, the School Psychologist is responsible for assessing, identifying and supporting students with disabilities to ensure they succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally.

    Responsibilities Include

    Individualized Education Programs (IEP) Support
    • Conduct psychoeducational evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services and any necessary individualized instruction or required behavior interventions
    • With other school-based professionals and parents, participate in the creation and management of IEPs for students with disabilities
    • Provide counseling services to students who are eligible for services based on the IEP

    Department and Program Support
    • Support a culture of student achievement by promoting healthy and supportive academic environments for students with disabilities
    • Partner with other school-based professionals to ensure students with special needs are receiving appropriate services according to the IEP
    • Plan and or participate in needed services and programs at the district, building, classroom, and individual levels

    Program Administration
    • Serve as the Local Education Agency (LEA) designee at IEP meetings
    • Gather, generate and analyze student and classroom data to inform program development

    Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience
    • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
    • California Pupil Personnel Services-School Psychologist credential (Intern candidates will also be considered)
    • Must possess a valid California Driver’s license.

    Ability to:
    • Communicate well, both orally and in writing, with staff, administrators, managers, vendors and the community.
    • Manage multiple tasks concurrently.
    • Plan and implement projects, prepare reports, etc.
    • Identify and set priorities for work assigned and meet required deadlines.

    • Have manual dexterity to appropriately control and manipulate objects, materials, and equipment used on the job, including telephone and computer
    • Ability to drive to all district facilities and necessary meetings and conferences
