About This Opportunity  

The University of Queensland is looking for a highly skilled and registered Dentist to play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of dental professionals at the University’s School of Dentistry. As a Senior Principal Dentist, you will provide expert clinical care and supervision whilst overseeing the clinical education of undergraduate students in a hands-on learning environment.

In this role you will manage the day-to-day operations of the clinic, ensuring efficient workflows and high-quality care for patients. You will also collaborate with academic staff to ensure students receive hands-on clinical experience that aligns with the School’s curriculum and standards.

This role offers the chance to influence both patient outcomes and the next generation of dental professionals. It is ideal for those looking to combine clinical practice with educational leadership, all while contributing to the growth and improvement of a key regional clinic.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide advanced dental care to patients, ensuring high quality treatment and effective patient management.

  • Oversee clinical supervision of undergraduate dental students, guiding their hands-on experience and ensuring alignment with academic standards.

  • Manage clinic operations, including leading and supporting dental assistants, to ensure efficient, safe and effective service delivery.

  • Collaborate with academic staff to enhance student education through practical clinical experience while maintaining the clinic’s operational excellence.

About You

  • Full registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA) as a general dentist.

  • Demonstrated high level of clinical expertise in providing general dental services, with experience in managing complex oral health cases.

  • Proven ability to supervise and mentor undergraduate students or dental staff within a clinical setting.

  • A commitment to high standards of clinical governance, patient care, and adherence to workplace health and safety procedures.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia, criminal check, AHPRA registration, and mandatory immunisations.
