The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated and Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join our outpatient Behavioral Health/Addiction Medicine team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and/or families, addressing a wide range of mental health issues and promoting overall well-being. This position is available in-person or remote based off applicant preference. The ideal remote candidate will be comfortable with digital communication tools and have a strong ability to build rapport and provide effective treatment from a distance.

Daily Responsibilities:

Client Sessions: Conduct individual, group, or family therapy sessions as scheduled. Assess client needs, develop treatment plans, and provide evidence-based interventions.

Assessment & Diagnosis: Perform thorough assessments and diagnoses of mental health conditions, utilizing various assessment tools and techniques.

Treatment Planning: Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on client assessments, goals, and progress.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including session notes, treatment plans, and progress reports, in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and primary care providers, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

Client Advocacy: Advocate for clients’ needs, ensuring they have access to appropriate resources and services.

Professional Development: Stay current with best practices and new developments in the field of therapy through continuing education, training, and professional development activities.

Administrative Tasks: Participate in team meetings, contribute to case discussions, and assist with administrative tasks as needed.
Schedule:
- Outpatient Behavioral Health/Addiction Medicine Clinic is open Monday to Friday 7:30am-5:00pm.
- Schedule is flexible based off provider input/preference (i.e.: working four 10-hour shifts instead of five 8-hour shifts).
- 6-9 patients per day based off weekly schedule (~35 patients per week).
Clinical Support:
- Scheduling/Check-in coverage provided by registration representative.
- Staff assistance with screening new patient referrals and working with registration to schedule.
- Staff assistance with maintaining a waitlist.
- Staff assistance with identifying patient access based on template availability.
- Staff assistance with panel management.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
- Valid Alaska license (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in providing therapy and treatment to diverse populations.
- Strong assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to ethical and professional standards.
- Ability and willingness to conduct sessions via Telehealth.
- Proficiency level typically achieved with 2 years of experience in a behavioral health setting.
- Must have knowledge of government/community resources such as Medicare, Medicaid, long-term care or any other applicable resources/services.
- Must demonstrate critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, human relations skills and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in working with individuals with trauma.
- Experience with addiction populations.
- Additional certifications or training in specialized areas.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities.
