- Provide effective clinical care at or above generally accepted standards of care and participate in VPCH educational, training, and research programs.

- Plan for the patients discharge; all as relevant to the diagnosis, assessment, treatment, care, and management of VPCH patients. Discharge planning shall include consideration and utilization of appropriate, available community resources.
- Account for a minimum of 40 hours of work per week, which may be satisfied through hours devoted to clinical work entirely within VPCH (weekday coverage 8am-5pm), or with prior knowledge and agreement of the CEO, a combination of direct clinical hours and indirect activities, which further the goals of VPCH and DMH.
- Attend or complete all mandatory VPCH trainings.
- Provide all necessary assistance to the DMH Legal Division in obtaining orders of hospitalization, non-hospitalization, and non-emergency involuntary medication, including provision of testimony and written affidavits or correspondence. The Contractors responsibilities are contingent upon the DMH Legal Divisions provision of the legal and administrative support necessary for the Contractor to provide the necessary assistance.
- Each psychiatrist shall adhere to standard of care practices with respect to clinical documentation (which is defined as an aggregate total of eighty percent compliance with clinical documentation), consistent with state and federal law, accreditation, certification, licensing, and VPCH billing needs.
- Actively participate in various Medical Staff Committees, various VPCH subcommittees and performance projects, such as utilization review, quality improvement, and pharmacy and therapeutics, as requested.
Job Requirements:
- Possess a degree from an accredited School of Medicine
- Shall be either Board Certified or Board Eligible by the applicable American specialty board
- Shall hold an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Vermont
- Shall hold unrestricted clinical privileges pertaining to the provision of care to inpatient psychiatric patients at VPCH
