Telemetry Supervisor, Telemetry, Full-time 12 hr. Nights, Winston-Salem  

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Supervises the Centralized Telemetry Surveillance Center (CTSC). Promotes a level of professionalism, leads by example, and encourages a caring, helpful, and responsive attitude to telemetry alarms, monitoring and teammates at all times. Coordinates and supervises telemetry technician functions and supports department as required. The Telemetry Supervisor is responsible for the coordination of telemetry services on his/her shifts, promotes cooperation and assures proper communication flow. The Telemetry Supervisor promotes a safe environment for patients and teammates and performs all related job responsibilities in a safe manner. The Telemetry Supervisor maintains clinical and professional competency and will work clinically and precept new staff at times. This position assists with other tasks in the unit as directed by the Nurse Manager and/or Assistant Nurse Manager.    

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

 

Paramedic certification from an accredited certified paramedic program, or an Associate’s Degree of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in paramedic studies or equivalent. Previous clinical experience preferred.

Graduation from an accredited LPN training program. Previous experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a clinical or other health care setting preferred.

 

 

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:

 

NC-OEMS certification as EMT-P required

 

 

-OR-

 

 

North Carolina Board of Nursing licensure as LPN required

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Oversees fulfillment of performance metrics for the department, to include productivity, patient experience and quality standards.
  2. Manage staff performance.
  3. Audits and maintains department metrics for unit and organizational goals.
  4. Promotes quality improvement and systems-thinking by openly supporting and consistently communicating the mission of the department and organization. Collaborates with management team on the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures designed to improve quality of care and operational efficiency.
  5. Promotes culture of safety and responsiveness.
  6. Responsible for compliance with policies and standard work for the department to ensure metrics are met and processes are appropriately followed.
  7. Responsible for staffing, training and supervision of staff including participation in annual performance evaluations.
  8. Schedule and organize assignments for breaks, meals and handoff duties.
  9. Interact and effectively communicate with nursing staff and make visits to units as needed.
  10. Shares in responsibility for maintenance of clean and orderly department. Helps to maintain equipment in good working order.

  1. Excellent organizational skills and self-motivated
  2. Ability to prioritize and handle interruptions
  3. Ability to speak effectively to employees inside and outside of the department
  4. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information according internal policies and regulations
  5. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  6. Working knowledge of all MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc)
